But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you (Matt 6:33).

The question is, do we believe God at His Word? Do we believe that if we seek His kingdom first that all of these things shall be added to you? What are all of these things? Verse 31 tells us:

Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ These things that will be added to us refer to our basic daily provision of food and clothing for the body.

But what does God say, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith (Matt 6:30).

Christ makes much emphasis on asking us where our treasure lies, because wherever our treasure is “ there your heart will be also” (Matt 6: 21). The Lord encourages us not to worry about what we will eat or drink or wear, for He knows full well how our minds can be consumed and for some overwhelmed, with the everyday affairs of life. These daily basic needs God says "Don't worry, I have this!" “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matt 6:26)

My encouragement today is to believe God at His word! Do you believe that you are more valuable than the birds? Do you believe that if you focus on Him and His affairs that He is more than able to take care of you? Know that He is. Trade your worries for full reliance on Him. Trust Him today!

Prayer
Lord I surrender all of my concerns, cares and anxieties regarding my daily needs. You see what they are and you said that if I focus on You first, You will meet those need. I believe that You are well able to do what You said, I trust you at Your Word and choose peace of mind. Thank you for Your provision in Jesus name Amen.
