Renew Your Strength

But those who wait on the Lord, Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Is 40:31. This is a promise which we should all lay ahold of. The question is, how does waiting on the Lord able to renew our strength?

That is a good question. The reason we are renewed is because we are no longer striving in our own flesh. You are resting and not using your own brute force to get something accomplished. There comes a time like a diligent farmer, after you have worked, ploughed and sowed, you wait on the increase from God. In the waiting, there is a trusting and exercising of faith in God to see the fruit of your labour.

Being a copartner with God is a completely different experience than striving on your own. You have a supernatural counterpart who now enables you to run and walk much further than if you were alone. And the reason God gives you this supernatural ability, is so that you can accomplish His will on earth. When God says to rest, you can therefore rest. You lay aside trusting in your own capacity to hold everything together and surrender to God's sovereignty. You surrender to God's sovereignty, knowing that He is well able to preserve your affairs. I encourage you today to rest, wait on the Lord and have your strength renewed. For surely when you rest in Him you will mount up with wings like eagles, you will run and not be weary, you will walk and not faint.

Prayer

Lord help me to exercise my faith by resting in You. Renew my mind and will as I rest. I lay aside trusting in my own capabilities and surrender to Your perfect sovereignty. You are well able to get everything accomplished that is required of me. I therefore relinquish my control and surrender it to You. Thank you for Your sustaining power and being the rewarder of my faith in Jesus name. Amen
