Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship. And I, indeed I, have appointed with him Aholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and I have put wisdom in the hearts of all the gifted artisans, that they may make all that I have commanded you ( Ex 31:1-6).

There are gifts which God gives to His church to make sure people are edified and that the church operates like a well oiled engine. God bestows these gifts to accomplish His purposes on earth, just as He bestowed gifts to Bezalel and put wisdom in the hearts of all the gifted artisans for the building of the tabernacle. When I first read this passage, I immediately thought, what gifts have God given to me for His purpose? God made no mistake and said “I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge and in all manner of workmanship (vs 3). There are deposits God gives us that we need to use!

My encouragement today is to ask God what gifts He has given to you for His purposes? What have you been sitting on and not activated? Let’s go to God and find out what they are.

Prayer

Lord I thank you that You are the Master Designer and You place good things in the hands of Your people. I ask that You show me what gifts you have bestowed in my life for Your purpose and glory. Once You do reveal them, help me be diligent with the things You have placed in my hands. I thank You for doing this in Jesus name. Amen.
